Ever since we started the business in 2000, we have been a proponent of getting kids of all ages on bikes because we truly believe cycling has long-lasting positive effects on their minds and bodies. We've been working with a local nonprofit for over 10 years taking at-risk youths mountain biking. It was amazing to see first-hand how the experiences have impacted their lives.
This year we are a proud sponsor of a local youth mountain bike team called the Santa Monica Composite. The team is consisted of young riders from grade 6 - 12 from the Santa Monica Mountains area. They compete in the Southern California Division of National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) along with 72 other teams. Since the team has no affiliations with any of the local schools, they depend heavily on donations and sponsors from individuals and bike shops like us. This year they rock an awesome looking racing jersey that shows off both Topanga Creek Outpost and Rogue Journeymen logos.
