The Fire Came Within a Mile of Us

In January 2025, the Palisades Fire tore through our neighborhood, and at one point coming within a mile of our home and workshop in Topanga. Firefighters and first responders held the line for days. Because of them, our neighborhood is still standing.

We wanted to give back in a way that lasts as long as their work matters to us. So now, every belt we sell funds a second belt — handcrafted by hand, at no cost, for the people who show up when it counts.

Our Story Is Airing on HGTV's Roast My Rental

HGTV's "Roast My Rental" is what happens when comedy meets home renovation. Leslie Jones, the hilarious SNL alum, hosts the show and travels across America checking out the worst short-term rental disasters. She roasts them with her signature sharp wit and no-filter reactions, then teams up with renovation expert Jasmine Roth to flip these properties into decent places within just 72 hours.

For this season's finale, HGTV came to Topanga to renovate a rental property and stopped by Topanga Creek Outpost to film how we handcraft every belt and give back to the first responders who saved our neighborhood. Handing Belts to the People Who Earned Them

We fit each person individually and make each donated belt on the spot at the shop. We also show up at firehouses and community events to provide the same experience from our mobile fire truck. Here's a look at a recent handoff.
