Our Leather Products
In 2015, we launched our journey into leathercraft to follow our passion for creating timeless and high-quality goods built to last for generations. As our skills and ambitions grew, we invested in professional leather sewing machines and specialized tools, allowing us to expand our product line and also include other durable materials beyond leather. Today, our collection features a diverse range of handcrafted products — belts, tote bags, purses, wallets, and lots more — all made with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
We proudly source most of our leather from three of the oldest and most respected tanneries in the United States: Wickett & Craig, Hermann Oak, and Horween. These tanneries use traditional, century-old natural tanning methods to produce full-grain leather known for its durability and character. The result is a product designed to age beautifully and become a true heirloom — something that can be passed down for generations.

Our Cabin in the Woods
Our workshop is tucked away in a wood cabin in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, nestled beside a creek and surrounded by oak trees. Inside this cozy space, our leathersmiths craft each piece by hand with care and attention to detail. We feel incredibly fortunate to call this one-of-a-kind spot in Topanga home. It's a peaceful, inspiring place that's unlike anywhere else in Los Angeles.

Creativity and Outdoor Adventures
Our journey began in early 2000 as a humble bicycle shop, born from a deep passion for cycling. Over the years, that same passion has evolved into a thriving leather goods store — a transformation guided by one simple mantra: "in business to pursue our creative endeavors."
In 2008, we relocated to Topanga Canyon to embrace mountain biking every day. With Topanga State Park just steps away, our dream lifestyle became reality. That's when we created “UnPredict Your Journey” — a philosophy (and practice) that lets us close up shop and head out on bikepacking trips, outdoor adventures, or whatever calls us that day.
Our Awards
Over the years we have won numerous awards such as California Small Business of the Year, The Top Mountain Bike Pro Shop in the US, and America's Best Bike Shops 4 times.
About Topanga
Topanga is a canyon community tucked into the Santa Monica Mountains, nestled between Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley. A true hidden gem within Los Angeles, Topanga has long preserved its rustic charm and retreat-like atmosphere. Known for its independent spirit, it's one of L.A.'s most unique enclaves — a magnet for artists, free-thinkers, and creatives over the decades. Legendary musicians like Woody Guthrie, Neil Young, and Alice Cooper have all called it home. In fact, the very location of our shop once served as a rehearsal studio for Jim Morrison of The Doors.
As you drive through Topanga Canyon, you're instantly struck by the lush, forested landscape — it feels like a world away. Yet, our shop is just 12 miles from the Santa Monica Pier. We chose this location not only for its peaceful, natural setting but also because it's home to some of Southern California's best mountain bike trails. Every day, we're inspired by the beauty around us and grateful for the chance to do what we love: create and craft high-quality leather products with care and creativity.
We invite you to take a scenic drive up to Topanga and visit our shop. Unwind in one of our Adirondack chairs by the creek, or cozy up inside the cabin by the potbelly stove on a chilly day. While you're here, explore the other unique local businesses — Topanga is full of charm and has so much to discover.

History of the shop
In 1999 we started as LA Bike Tours taking people on bicycle excursions around Los Angeles. We took out-of-town visitors and locals alike on bikes exploring and learning about Los Angeles area history. Destinations included Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, the Getty Center and many historic points of Hollywood. As avid mountain bikers we also offered off-road rides as well. We were proud to show people that Los Angeles really was a bicycle friendly city despite its deep-rooted car culture.
As we became more established in Hollywood we realized there was a need for a bicycle shop in the neighborhood. Hollywood Pro Bicycles was formed and our continued growth in the unexpected location on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame surprised many people. Hollywood is a very diverse community and our customers included roadies, mountain bikers, bike messengers and urban commuters. We were glad to have helped Hollywood become a stronger cycling community over the years.
With the move to Topanga Canyon we changed our name to Topanga Creek Bicycles, and we have now become Topanga Creek Outpost. We will continue our mission to provide the highest quality products and best services to all surrounding neighborhoods.
