Leather Folios For Chicago's Boutique Sophy Hotel
Sophy Hotel in Chicago is a refined boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Hyde Park. Seeking an element that felt handmade, bespoke, and deeply tactile, the design team approached us to create custom leather folios for guest use. It was a natural fit: every guest interacts with the folio — turning pages, exploring menus, directories, and hotel details, making it an intimate point of contact between the space and its visitors.
Each folio was crafted from rich tan leather, chosen for its warmth and character, and paired with deep green leather pockets inside for a subtle, sophisticated contrast. Meticulously cut and finished by hand, the design features a wraparound strap threaded through a riveted opening, with the Sophy's logo embossed directly into the leather. Carefully stitched borders complete the piece and it's made to be handled, used, and appreciated over time.

Sophy Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in Chicago's historic Hyde Park neighborhood. Inspired by the area's deep ties to art, science, literature, and music, the hotel blends refined design with a strong sense of place, featuring curated artwork by local artists throughout and thoughtfully detailed interiors.
With approximately 98 rooms, Sophy offers an intimate, culturally rich stay just steps from the University of Chicago and near landmarks like the Museum of Science and Industry, making it a distinctive alternative to downtown Chicago hotels.
