In the middle of the Los Padres National Forest lies many hidden gems and one of our favorites is the Big Caliente Hot Springs. These natural hot springs are just amazing especially after a long bike ride.
For our UnPredict Your Wednesday adventure we took the train up to Santa Barbara, then rode our bikes deep into the National Forest for about 3 hours before getting to the campsite in the middle of the night.
The morning started with a big disappointment when we arrived at the main spring pool and found it closed. Didn't want to give up, we hiked to a higher ground and found a smaller but still awesome spring pool that was waiting for us. What a relief! A long dip in this particular frigid morning was only part of the fun. The 100-mile epic bike ride along the Pacific ocean back to Topanga Canyon completed our trip that was simply unforgettable.
